Ron started shooting at the age of 14 in Kansas and after graduating served in the United States Air Force for 36 years. During his shooting career Ron has registered 55,000 singles, 50,025 handicap, and 42,400 doubles targets.

Ron has won trophies at TTA Zone Shoots as well as state shoots here in Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Southwest Grand, the Autumn Grand, as well as the Grand American starting in 2010 as the White Flyer 2700 Target Class B High Overall.

Here in Texas, there has not been a task Ron would not take on. Ron has served as President of Fort Worth, 4 years as Zone IV President, 2nd and 1st Vice-Presidents of the TTA as well as President of the TTA with 6 years on the Hall of Fame committee and two years of that being the chairman, as well as 3 years as the state’s first alternate delegate. He has also been a target setter at the Grand American, the Southwest Grand, our state shoot, as Zone Shoots.

During all the years Ron has served the TTA, he has made the Texas State Team as a Veteran twice, with one of those years being the captain.
