The following 10 Texas shooters made the 2024 All American Trapshooting Team! They competed against the best shooters from every state in the country. They travelled across the entire USA and shot in all the elements that nature could throw at them including extreme heat, howling wind, torrential rain, freezing sleet and even snow. Congratulations on your achievement, dedication to the sport and comaraderie towards your fellow shooters!

Silent Auction and Fund Raising
Due to the loss of the Southwest Grand shoot the TTA relied on event sponsors, program ads, donations, auctions, silent auctions and raffles for the state trophy package to make up for the loss in Daily Fees. A big "Thank you!" goes out to all those who donated and purchased the items!

The following 7 shooters attended all five 2023 Texas Zone shoots - Billy Hopson, Richard Leos, Darin Clawson, Kevin Merrell, Cooper Caswell, JJ Caswell & Babette Cade. Babette Cade was the lucky winner for the drawing for the 2 cases of Winchester AA shells!
Billy Hopson, Richard Leos and Steve Bradbury are donating 3 cases of Winchester AA's for a drawing for shooters that attend all the 2024 target year Zone shoots.

- Jerry O'Connor - ATA Delegate for the past 13 years, former 1st Alternate Delegate, TTA President, 2nd Vice President, served on the Amarillo Gun Club Board of Directors for approximately 20 years and was President of Amarillo Gun Club 3 times. We also thank Trish O'Connor who worked tirelessly alongside Jerry all those years.

TTA Hall of Fame Inductee Darin Clawson
- Details
Darin Clawson starting shooting trap in 2001 at the San Angelo Claybird Gun Club. To date, he has registered over 135,000 targets in all three disciplines. He was the Texas State Doubles Champion in 2006 with a lone 99 and has been in the hunt for State Championship titles for the last 16 years. Darin has placed on the Texas State Team six times.
He served as a TTA officer from 2008 to 2010, was President of the TTA in 2010 and served on the Hall of Fame committee for an additional 5 years.
He has led the San Angelo trap program and continues to be instrumental in running, scoring and cashiering tournaments throughout West Texas. He has also served as target setter and trap mechanic at shoots all over Texas.
TTA Hall of Fame Inductee JR Long

JR Long has a long history of many years of dedication to the Texas Trap Association and has held the following positions:
- TTA President 1990
- TTA Director for 15 years
- ATA Alternate Delegate 1986
- Zone II President, Vice President and Secretary & treasurer several times
- Served on numerous state committees
- Conducted national survey on ladies state teams resulting in Texas expanding ladies team to 5 members
- Served as auctioneer at State, Zone, Southwestern Zone special events
JR long began registered in 1974 and acheived his first 100 Singles straight on 2/8/76, first 200 Singles straight a month later on 3/13/76. He made the 27 yard line two years later on 5/21/78. He ran 100 Doubles in June 1988 and completed his Grand Slam with a 100 straight from the 27 yard line in September, 1990!
ATA Hall of Fame Inductee Jennifer Wilburn

Jennifer Rutger of Boerne, TX, was inducted into the ATA Hall of Fame in 2022. Jennifer has been attending trapshoots before she was born; her mom shot non-registered events while she was pregnant. Jennifer started regular practice at age nine, and her ATA career began at the 1984 Southern Grand. Shortly after she won first trophy in a singles event at a weekend shoot in Orlando.
Jennifer competed at the Grand for the first time in 1984, shooting only singles. Two years later she won her first trophy there, placing third among sub-juniors in the Singles Class Championship. Since then she has won more than 85 Grand trophies, including women's titles in the 2001 Doubles; 1999 All-Around; plus the 2005 and 2007 HOAs. In 2015 she claimed the Lady I HOA crown.
