Patrick Hopson

Patrick began honing his shooting skills in his backyard shooting at tufts out of cottonwood trees with his Red Ryder BB Gun at a young age before moving up to a .410 shotgun. Shooters recall seeing Patrick at the back of a trap house shooting at targets with his father after registered shoots with that .410. Hooked on breaking targets, Patrick began shooting ATA registered targets in 2008. He has attended every State Shoot since 2009.

 

Texas State Shoot: Junior Singles Champion 2015, 2016; Jr. Gold Singles Champion 2017, 2018; Doubles and HAA Champion 2018; Singles, Doubles and HAA Champion 2019; Singles Champion 2020; Singles, HOA Champion, and HAA R/U 2021.

 

State Teams: 2014 Junior Team, 2015 Junior Team Captain, 2016 Junior Team, 2017 Men's First Team, 2021 Men's First Team.
2016 TTA Youth Scholarship recipient, 2016 AIM Scholarship for Marksmanship, academic and shooting scholarship to Lindenwood University.

Grand American: 2015 President's Handicap Champion with the lone 99, 2019 Zone C of C Jr Gold Champion, 2020 AIM Grand American Singles Champion, 2020 Grand American Kubota Doubles Champion.

ATA All-American: Jr Gold Second Team 2018, 2020; Jr Gold First Team 2019, 2021; and Open First Team 2022.
AA27AA (2017), AAA27AAA (2018), Grand Slam #526 on August 21, 2022, tied for 10th place for all time highest year end singles average (.9970) in 2022, Team Federal and Team Krieghoff sponsorships in 2023.

Patrick helped win three collegiate Division I National Championships while a member of Lindenwood University Shotgun Team, member of the 2018 ACUI American Trap Championship squad, and was Trap Captain from his sophomore year until graduation.

 

Patrick has sponsored Texas State Doubles Championship numerous times, assisted with AIM duties, helped his dad set targets, and supported youth shooters through donations.
